Mr Mollotov - "PINK" Exhibition

Posted on: Friday, June 16, 2023

The Artist is a very private person for whom Art quickly became an escape, a way of living and of communicating. Moments where time stands still, a bubble in which the impossible does not exist, where creativity has no limits anymore…

MR MOLLOTOV was born in 1979. He grew up in the Paris suburbs, in Val-de-Marne, and has lived in Beaugency for many years…

MR MOLLOTOV started out with drawing, with black-and-white portraits. Colour would later come to complete his Art. This all-consuming passion would later feel like an obvious calling. The Artist is heavily influenced by the work of "Caravaggio", "Georges de La Tour" and the world of graffiti and street art from which he draws inspiration.

MR MOLLOTOV fell in love with a portrait made using an airbrush by an artist. This encounter would shake up his entire body of work. Fascinated, it triggered an electric shock. The self-taught Artist then turned to YouTube tutorials to perfect his Art. After hours of practice and months of application, it's undeniable — he had found his calling.

The Artist developed his technique, his style took shape and became recognisable. He expresses himself through gradients, volume created with the airbrush, finishing touches and retouches with marker, and an explosion of colours, all interwoven to give his works depth and power.

MR MOLLOTOV tells us: "The fear of failure must not be a barrier. We learn from our mistakes, and the key is to pick ourselves back up. Our mistakes, and what comes from them, make us better people." The Artist was the 2023 guest of honour for the 6th edition of the ROADS Festival and extends his exhibition for our great pleasure.
