Exhibition "POP and ART": 4 weekends to dive into David Samuzeau's world at Empreinte Galerie

The "POP&ART" exhibition is vibrant and generous. It's a quirky tribute to popular culture, with a poetic language that transforms the mundane into the iconic.

DAVID SAMUZEAU is a self-taught visual artist, born in Orléans. He took up shoemaking for the love of the craft, the precision, and the contact with materials. He later left this career to devote himself to drawing, painting and graffiti. The art of repurposing objects then revealed itself to him and became his favourite playground

DAVID SAMUZEAU tells us: "To repurpose is to transform, to reinvent, to resist time with poetry."

He enjoys himself — "but always with rigour" — bringing together art and everyday life. He takes hold of objects, frees them from their original function, and injects them with an explosive dose of meaning and life. He "re-glues" them, building a kind of intimate dialogue with each one

David Samuzeau is something of a sorcerer. In his hands, objects burst into vivid shapes, electric contrasts and bold winks. He mixes techniques: graffiti, ink, oil, paint… He assembles, repurposes, and lets the urban and the intimate, the raw and the sensitive, talk to one another. It all collides to create works built around a joyful Pop universe.

Through La Fabrique, his workshop, he shares this colourful energy and his passion for creative art, inviting his students to dare, to have fun, and to create without limits.
