Floral mutualism exhibition by urban artist Panpan, from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 July

This exhibition traces the recent artistic activities of urban artist Panpan, interwoven with encounters, collaborations and a variety of visual trips.

Originally from Orléans, Jonathan Guyot, aka Panpan or PANonerPAN, is an artist born in 1982 who came up through the graffiti scene in the early 2000s. He went on to create numerous legal and unauthorised murals under the tag PAN2, within various crews.

In 2003, he began painting a simple, graphic motif that was quick to execute: a flower! It quickly multiplied across the walls. Simple and graphic, it allowed him to work on many different surfaces while varying his techniques: canvases, walls, paper for collage, stickers, acrylic paint, oil paint, spray paint, gold leaf...

Over time, this simple motif was embellished with rounded leaves. Then, curves and lines became his preferred direction. Covering surfaces with motifs, without distorting them but bringing a new reading to them, led him to paint busts, walls, bunkers, and tanks, applying, like a veil, a graphic envelope, multiplying the emotions and readings of the surface.

In this monumental exhibition at the crossroads of the arts, the artist Panpan collaborates with 25 artists; street artists, painters, graffiti artists, visual artists, sculptors, a seamstress, and a "compagnon du devoir" from all over France will be featured. Art resonates with sharing, encounters, poetry and emotions...

A musical and pictorial performance with musician Brume Parole will take place on Saturday 6 July at 8pm, at the heart of the exhibition.
