Exhibition "Le fil des passions" by artist Tian, from 30 May to 21 June at Empreinte Galerie
Don't miss this first exhibition in Orléans!
TIAN is a painter, street artist and screen printer who has been active for 20 years in Le Mans. A key figure in the French urban contemporary art scene that emerged in the mid-2000s, he has developed a portrait style using stencils and spray paint on canvas as well as on walls. He has also honed his skills in screen printing and regularly produces limited-edition prints.
Tian invites us to follow Le fil des passions (The Thread of Passions) through portraits of women with extraordinary destinies: captivating models, exiled actresses, fierce rebels, complex and combative souls. Between the 1920s and the 1970s, two pivotal moments in feminism, he explores with rare sensitivity the evolution of the image of women, in Europe as well as in Japan. Through subtle shifts, his canvases bring this vintage imagery to life, creating a timeless dialogue between past and present.
