The 2024 Joan of Arc Festivities starting 29 April in Orléans
This event, unique in France and blending civil, military and religious traditions, has been listed since 2018 as part of France's Intangible Cultural Heritage. The 2024 Joan of Arc Festivities showcase this Orléans tradition over ten days of festivities, beginning on 29 April 2024.
The Joan of Arc festivities in Orléans are among the oldest commemorative celebrations in France. They celebrate the liberation of the city by Joan of Arc on 8 May 1429. Since that historic day, the city has paid tribute to its heroine through the Joan of Arc Festivities.
These festive days are an opportunity for everyone, locals and visitors alike, to remember and share together this period that has so deeply marked the history of France and of Orléans.
